Geelong, Australia – Prevatex Pty Ltd an emerging life sciences company focussed on developing and bringing to market next generation probiotics to restore and maintain a healthy maternal microbiome during pregnancy, has been awarded a collaborative grant worth more than $85,000 from the University of Sydney.

“The Industry and Community Engagement Fund collaborative grant worth more than $85,000 from the University of Sydney will fund research with Associate Professor Laurence Macia to investigate, in a mouse model, the mechanisms by which maternal carriage of P. copri may influence foetal immune development and the offspring’s risk of allergic diseases” said Dr Greg Collier, PhD, Executive Chairman of Prevatex.

“We are focussed on the progression to the clinic of our probiotic lead candidates, and are delighted to broaden the depth of understanding around the role of P. copri in immune development of the infant.”
